This IS The Place -- Grandma's Place!

The time is running short for the Gunnerson boys to be here in Utah at Grandma and Grandpa's and there's still so much to do! Today, we took a trip to "This Is The Place" park and here's some of the fun we had.
The first picture is just as you are entering the park. The sun was bright for the Buti's and Noah was busy playing with the straw, but it is still darn-tootin' cute!
The second picture is the playhouse, where the kids had tons of fun. Mia especially loved the cash register and didn't want to leave the corn and tea cups to go visit the rest of the park. There was also a "pretend" train which they really liked.
The real train was a life-saver and quite a favorite as well. We rode it all the way around the park and the breeze was pretty nice. We also rode in a horse/wagon around a few blocks. The kids rode some ponies and the Buti's are actually liking horses quite well.
At the Heber C. Kimball home the kids got to play in the bread dough and then eat cookies, even though they weren't homemade, because as the "pretened" pioneer boy told us, "We don't meet the standards set by the State to bake our own cookies."
No matter where Grandma is with the kids, it is the "right place!"

My Life is Exciting!

Around last February or so, my dad found out about a wagontrain re-enactment that would trail down Echo Canyon to Rockport. It was to be a two-day trail. He located the horse for me to buy and began making preparations for me to rebuild a wagon. Then, he had the stroke and our progress stopped. As the time neared for the ride, I felt bad that it was a goal we were giving up. I called to see if we could find a place to go and "watch" and the answer was, "No! Come and join us!" The first day we trailed 12 miles down the old Echo Canyon road to Coalville. The second day we trailed from Coalville to Rockport. It was a wonderful experience with Dad. It was something he wanted to do, so it made me happy to help him realize the dream. It was also good for me to spend some "alone" time with him. We rode in Doug Gines' wagon and there were ten other wagons plus out riders. It was lots of fun. At the conclusion of the ride, my grandchildren were waiting for me. Noah is having a tender moment with Grandpa Great asking him all about the ride!
Noah ate his dinner like a big boy and Luke was sent into the house to get chocolate cupcakes that he had been waiting for. Noah accompanied him and when the time began to draw out, Olivia went in to see what the problem was. She brought him out with about 4 cupcakes smashed in his hands and his face in the middle of one of them. She said there were about 4 more strung down the hall. She cried and said, "I can't do this!" Grandpa and I, of course, laughed and I took pictures of Dennis-I mean Noah, with his face in one of the cupcakes. Olivia wanted to be mad at him and went to jump her frustrations out on the tramp. Of course, Noah cried to join her and as you can see -- she couldn't help love him and smile while doing so.
Life is good -- even though challenging, sometimes.

This is How the Drummer Drums....

You've all heard the old cli`che, "We all march to the beat of a different drum." Well, our drum beats at a very fast pace! The top picture is our new "freezer group" which consisted of Aunt Trudy, Beau Dee, Chelsea, Giselle, Billie Jo and myself. Olivia guided and directed us and we had our first "freezer" experience! We all thought we had fun and would do it again! We'll probably really love it when we just pull out those meals and pop them in the oven! Thanks Olivia.

Next, I'm sure you've heard the expression, "Balm of Gilead" -- well, Noah got a little mixed up and decided to borrow Grandma's "Bag Balm" just before going to church! As you can see, his Mother is less than happy with his decision!

My kids all remember shopping with me in the fabric store and having so much fun!?! So, when we take the kids shopping with us now, we MUST have fun and it does look like they are pretty darned happy, doesn't it?

Here's Ellie and Tess being the stars of the 24th of July talent show for Fiesta Days.

Life is pretty nice as a Grandma, as you can just think how cute everything is and leave the "situations" up to the Moms!

One of My Cute Grandsons!

Noah got in a little bit of trouble (not with Grandma!!! but his Mom) because he got in Grandma's laundry soap. He is cleaning up his mess -- what a good boy!

It is Noah's personal job to feed Bella and Zeke -- which he loves to do!

Olivia found some apple trees to plant up in "Indian Crossings," on their property for the future! Noah was very eager to help his Mommie so he'll have some trees to climb once they move back here!

See why I think Noah is sooo cute -- besides, he loves me when he is trying to get away from his Mother!

Cooling off on a hot summer day! Tim, Ellie and Tess, Rick and Luke, and Allen and Patrice had been 4-wheeling from the Kamas side of Soapstone to the Woodland side of Soapstone. Earl and Rob had been cutting and baling hay all day. Billie Jo and Olivia had the babies and had packed a lunch for us. I had been to a funeral (fun!) and grocery shopping. Gisells had catered at The Canyons all day and Noah had been flying and working. Grandpa Earl told us all to meet at the Provo River Diversion -- which, by the way, is very private, as only he and the big guys from Provo have a key to the gate. As you can see, the guys moved the rocks around in the river to create a little "cold tub" and everyone just played in the water and on the rocks. It was our own private little beach in Utah and we all had fun. We missed the Johnsons so much, but we have Bella staying with us, so they were there in spirit while we dog sit Bella. It was so much fun just to be together and play. I think you can see how beautiful it is and how much fun we had!
