Oh Canada!

Through our work with Impact Net Worth, Dad and I qualified for a special trip to Canada hosted by Fred and Derek Elliot, to their farm. We flew into Toronto, Canada on Thursday, Aug. 9th and toured around the city. The needle looking thing is the world's tallest building (according to the sign), which overlooks all points north, south, east, and west of Toronto. We had a romantic dinner at a little European sidewalk cafe in Toronto that night. Friday, we got up and traveled down to Niagra Falls. This was the first time Dad had ever seen the Falls and it had been over 35 years since I had seen them. While the Falls remain the same -- overwhelming! -- the hotels, amusement park, restaurants, parks and such have all increased immensley since I was there. It was beautiful and fun to share together. We traveled up to Chambridge, a town closer to the Elliott Farm, on Friday afternoon/evening. Saturday morning we were able to attend a motivational Impact meeting, listening to some of the board members speak. It was great. We then changed our clothes and drove up to Orangeville to the Elliott Farm. They had a helicopter for the day so Dad took a little flight. I wanted to, but pride got in my way, as I was worried about getting air sick and barfing in front of other people, so I stayed on the ground. They had a team and wagon, which, as you can see, they let me have the reigns! What fun! We ate and visited and snooped around the farm, which was very beautiful and tastefully restored. The food was all catered and we had lamb chops, shrimp, rib-eye steak, bbq chicken, red potato and horseradish salad, corn on the cob, baked beans, and bread. It was a great little get-away for us, which we enjoyed very much. Thanks to Allen and Rob for finishing the farming. Thanks to Billie Jo and Tim for picking Rob up for church. Thanks to all of you for being such great children and making us proud!

Mom you are quite the world traveler this summer. Congratulations on all your hard work. You and Dad have taught us how to work hard and set goals for ourselves. I hope we can all have a beautiful "farm" someday!

That looks like so much fun! Good job working so hard in Impact to deserve such a trip. I bet such a laid back getaway was just what the doctor ordered after the year you've had. You've become a new mother of two, besides still caring for the rest of your children and growing population of grandchildren!

That picture of you and Dad outside the house on Elliot farm is great--you look fabulous! And I'm so happy they let you drive the team--that's one step closer to owning your own team like you've long wanted...

I love traveling and the way it opens your eyes to the immense number of people, cultures, and mindframes there are in the world. You are lucky to have visited such a melting pot where you encountered so many languages, accents, and of course...looneys and tooneys!!!

What fun! It is kind of like a little romantic weekend away together. I hope you two had some time to "rekindle" the romance if you know what I mean! (is that okay to say to your mom?)

Hi Billie Sue! I hope you don't mind that I'm commenting. I found you via Chelsea's page, who was on Lindsay Smoot's page. I sound like a complete lurker. But when I discovered you have a blog, I was so happy! I just think you're fabulous and I miss seeing your cute face! It was so nice seeing you and Earl for a few minutes at the SSHS graduation in May. You have a beautiful family!
