It's Round-up Time!

Could it really have been three and a half months since Allen was here with Dad and they had the "Shot and Ear Tag Day?" Those calvies are not babies anymore and had to have another set of shots today and a check-up from the vet to make sure they were all healthy to go to the "sale!" The first picture is the temporary "hotel" while away from home during the day. The second is all of the calves crying for their mommies -- not knowing why they have so thoughtlessly been removed from their normal routine. The next shot is funny because as soon as we opened the gate up at Andrea's, the calves jumped out of the trailer and went running down to.......when they realized they didn't know where they were, they turned around and jumped back into the trailer. Rob and Dad were at the Averett/McNeil/Fitzgerald "cattle round-up" until the calves had all received their shots and been tested by the vet. They brought the calves back home and they were able to find their moms and head back out to the comfort of the pasture.
Dad is hanging out at his new office! See how nice the inside is? It really is quite large and could be comfty if there was some tin on the roof! Don't you all agree? I think it should be his office and the place where he keeps his work clothes -- what's the vote?
There I am sitting in the wagon waiting for Dad to finish up his work so we can go on a ride. How long do you think I'll be waiting?

Oops...I forgot what pictures I loaded between the time I put them on and the time I wrote. The picture of Dad with the machinery is the old rake. It had broken a bracket and he totally built a new one over at the shop. Isn't he clever?

Mom-
I love your posts, except I get so homesick every time I see any of your pictures! I miss being there so much and can't wait for the day we will be living there and basking in the cool mountain air! I also can't wait for my little boy to work with Grandpa, and learn how to be a farm kid! I love you guys so much!

I am sure that since I am the one that actually lives her I am totally at the advantage as far as keeping in touch however, these pictures remind me of my roots. I am so glad that I can live her in these breath-taking mountains and she all of the history that is in the making. I remember the days of piling in the the orange ford and going up to see dad working in the field. Also taking the milk from the Old Malorey place to Grandpa McNeil's. I love that old picture of the grainery. As far as it goes for the office I am actually against it. I think that it will be a great tack shed for your horses and all of their accessories. I love to look at it! I am a country girl at heart!!!

Beautiful pics, momma...I love the Kamas Valley and the lifestyle there so much. I can't wait to return as soon as possible! I'm just a few thousand helicopter hours away! Pray for Noah to speed through school and get a job as soon as he's done!!!

What great pictures, they make me want to spend even more time up there. As far as the wagon ride...I think you'll get it soon, just maybe not as soon as you would like!
