When I left for work at 6:20 am, Bella was up on the dugway visiting the black Lab who lives at the top of the hill. They both have bright pink collars, and I had a hard time distinguishing between the two, except that Bella was the fatter and slower one. They had a great little morning jog.

Dad and I had to hurry once we got home from school to get ready for Salt Lake, and I looked out the window and noticed Dad lying on the ground, trying to shinny under the grey Baretta. I knew just what was going on!

He came in pleased as punch after his visit to the delivery room and announced that Bella has given birth to 5 or 6 babies! She came right out to give Dad a kiss and tell him how proud she was of herself. Dad told her to tend the kids and he'd be back home soon.

We called Bella's proud parents and made the announcement to them! They were both very happy to know their little girl was fine and they had beautiful little grandpuppies!
Once we got home from Salt Lake, we arranged for the move to Bella's bigger, better, more accomodating condo. Dad crawled under the car again--but much further under this time and I waited with a basket for him to hand me the 5 or 6 babies. He would announce, "Here's one! Here's two!" and he kept it up. After six, I started to get up and he said, "Here's seven!" Inside the garage, with two blankies, food and water at her side and plenty of fussing to provide for her comfort, Bella accepted the move just fine and settled right down. When we got them settled in their new surroundings, all seven were snuggled tigheter than bugs in a rug and making a warm, little new puppy sounds. Some of the babies have white feet -- so maybe Zeke should join in the celebration??? As you can see, Bella loves those little babies and is totally in to taking good care of them. All is well that ends well!

Yeah! The puppies are here! Thank you for taking such good care of her these last few months and especially yesterday! Can't wait to see them.
I can't help but comment on my own blog--silly me! Look at her-isn't she just precious taking such sweet care of her little ones? I love life!
Such a farm life. Those dogs are way to cute to be sent to a home where they could possibly get run over?!?!
I think that we are just better at raising children than animals: Let's review-2 dogs went AOL, Numerous fish went belly up, 2 horse that the children would not even touch, or shall i say my children would not even touch. 2 Cats at Andy's, who knows their outcome and precious little Tilly who should not have taken a nap under my tire! For the ultimate finish- 2 chickens would seemed like they would be the perfect little pets, nothing but feathers one morning! So absolutely NO animals for this tribe!!!
But they are adorable and Bella looks like a fine mom. She must take after her own mom and grandmother!!!
Wow! Two births in the family in just over a month! How exciting. I really think now that the Butikofer girls love animals, that one should be taken to their house. I am trying to convince both of my sisters to take one home, I know that Brayden really wants one, and I am sure little Avah would enjoy one as well. Thank you so much for taking care of Bella. I don't think she would have enjoyed her first year of life down here in La Verkin like she has on the farm with Zeke and grandpa!
ahhhhhhh....so very very cute! Too bad I am such an evil mommy and won't let my kids have a dog!

Oh man! How can I resist? If I had a yard (even a small one to myself) I would take one (or two) of the little pups. I love dogs so much... They all look so cute and I just want them for myself!
I do find it interesting that Chelsea and Max became parents and Grandparents in the same month, though!
I love the country life. I want so much to move away and explore the world, only to come back home and settle in the valley that I adore...the sooner I move the better! Then I can come home faster!
