I won't bother to go into detail about the holidays, as each of the kids already have, but suffice it to say - we were definitely blessed with the love of our family and their generosity. We love each of them so much and long for the day when we receive word to tell us they are coming for another visit!

Christmas Eve was a dream -- it was snowing softly and the house was warm and smelled wonderful. Rick went up and picked up my Mom and Dad and brought them down to enjoy the evening with us. They love the great grandchildren and are so proud of their talents and sweet spirits. Rick and I took them back home and tucked them into bed, where they were safe and sound. We are so thankful they were healthy enough to be able to get out and come spend some time with us.

Noah is a farm boy and loves to be outside helping Grandpa. We couldn't talk him in to coming inside, even when it was only about 10 degrees outside -- even when "bad dog" knocked him over face first in the snow!

I have found someone to work my night job for me this semester. I feel like I need to be here, readily available in case Grandma or Grandpa need us. Let's all hope and pray that the doctor can get her medication straightened out and she won't have to spend every week at the infusion clinic. My Dad is so loving to her and takes such good care of her. I hope when I am 82, Dad and I love each other as much as my parents do. It is the sweetest love I have ever seen.

We continue to work hard in the incorporation effort and will soon be ready to submit the application. Most people are very positive and supportive of keeping our beautiful Woodland's heritage. I will always love my home and my family and the values we live and love here. Thank you all for a beautiful Christmas and my heart and love to go out to you in wishing you the best New Year ever!

What a beautiful post, Mom. The time we were able to spend with the McNeils for Christmas was so nice, and I wish we would have spent more time up there. I think if we would have realized it was going to be a 3 week marathon of guests with the Rashetas, we would have spent the time up there while we still could (before our houseguests came). I'm sad that I only got to see my siblings for such a short time--but I won't let it happen again!
I just want to let you know how much I admire you for the things you do for your parents. I see in your unwaivering and unconditional love and patience (even when I'm telling you to stop being so patient with certain things!) and see you as the perfect example. I don't think there is a question of if Dad will love you that much when you are both 82--he will, and I will. I love you, Mommy.
Looks like you guys had such a wonderful holiday. I am glad you were able to spend it with your family. The picture of Noah on the tractor is great. He looks like a real farm boy!
I love the "bad dog" story! I am so happy that you updated, as it reminded me of what a wonderful, although short, time we had up there this year. I can't wait till we can live there, or anywhere closer so Jack can be a farm boy too! I really wish you would come and see us in a couple weeks, but I understand why you feel like you can't. We love and miss you! Thanks for making our Christmas so special!
Mom, your pictures always make me miss Woodland the most. Although it was truly freezing cold, it was great to be in your warm home for Christmas. Thanks again. And I LOVE the picture of Jack in his Aggie PJs.
It looks like you had a great Christmas and Thank heavens we had snow for all of your Vegas Babies... Can you imagine not having snow for Christmas??? All of the pictures you took are darling. You sure have cute grand-babies... I don't know how many time I have heard my dad say he wishes he could have skipped the children part and gone straight to the grandkid part... There's just something about the relationship between grandparent's and the babies. They are so lucky to have you as their Grandma & Grandpa!
Thank-you for letting us come and take over the house for a couple of weeks. I don't know what Christmas would be without being with family. We loved being there, even if the "bad doggie" did push Noah down in the snow. We can't wait until we can be there for good.
Billie Sue,
What beautiful pictures! This is Jessica (Dewey). I was so excited to see pictures of home! I found your blog through Beau Dee. I hope all is well with the McNeils. Take care, Jess
