What a Great Weekend...

This picture is to show you what's in store at Fox River Ranch....I have purchased a couple of miniature ponies from Dad. Earl is not happy about me doing this, as he thinks I am getting into something that is a job for him! Imagine that!!! I told him, "What's new? You didn't want me to get the smoker, and you have done a wonderful job with it!" I don't know why he thinks I can't have something I want -- he always gets what he wants even when I don't want it, so.....I know he will be the first one out there trying to pet the little things and get them to like him so they will come running as soon as he steps to their pasture! Cache has worked with this little one for a while and can now ride her, as you can see. I remember the days when Allen took on the challenge of the miniatures, as well. What fun!
This was actually the other weekend, when Chelsea was here and the girls all went up to Dad's and picked apples. Wow -- we have had some wonderful apple pies and apple crisp! The kids had fun up picking the apples, and when I say, "kids," I'm talking Billie Jo, Olivia and Chelsea, as well as Luke, Noah and Jack!

Allen and Patrice came home this weekend for a short visit and we had a big cookout Sunday after Stake Conference. Mia and Noah were actually having a friendly dinner together.

The three "older" kids have their own dinner spot. The sun was a little bright for them while I insisted they smile and have their picture taken!
By the way, Luke sang with the men's choir for Stake Conference on Saturday night. He sang a solo at the beginning and concluded the song, as well. It was "I'm Trying To Be Like Jesus." He did a wonderful job. Ellie sang in the Primary Children's Choir for the Sunday session of Stake Conference. She had to sit on the stand for the whole 2-hour session and she did a great job -- both of singing and being such a mature little lady.

I think Noah is the only grandchild who missed out bonding with Grandma as a baby, therefore, I am definitely putting my time in with Eli and Evan, so they will let me hug them and perhaps even kiss them. Noah is fiercely opposed to me having anything to do with him. If you're not Grandpa offering a ride on the tractor or to go irrigating, you are not welcome in to Noah's world. It was a beautiful fall day and the warmth of the love with all our children made it even better. Thanks for being here -- you kids!

Yes first to post. I love being so competitive!!! It was a wonderful weekend and being outdoors at your house was the icing on the cake. I want all of the grandkids to spend as much time with their grandpa and grandma as possible. We have so many things to do before the COLD weather sets in. When are we going to Pioneer Park? What about a fall ride? And let's not forget a family photo!?!? Thanks for a wonderful dinner, you always set the bar so high. I am ready for some fish tacos now.

Dang it! I wake up at 530 in the morning and still I'm not the first to post. I am illegally checking your blog from work...so does that at least give me some points? I am so excited about the miniatures! I hope those little cuties get trained...and your past few weekends look so wonderful. I wish I could have been there for the bbq on the deck, picking apples, and of course to see the hard work of all the singers/singing leaders in our family. I can't wait to see you guys! Love and miss you...

"Oh, what a beautiful morning, oh, what a beautiful day." I have that song going through my mind as I read the recap of the weekend. I can't think of anything better than spending time with a wonderful family, enjoying amazing weather, and delicious food. Thanks for making it all possible.

We certainly loved seeing you guys this weekend! How could we not with all the great food and the excellent company? I'm so glad Evan gets to see and love his McNeil cousins and Grandparents! What a lucky little boy to belong to such a loving family. Thank you for such a fun recap and a great weekend.

How could you forget the time I was riding the miniature through the orchards and it took off running and the saddle came off and I went sliding on the ground? Ahhh, can't wait for more miniature adventures. Will they be ready for the b-day party?

The weekend looks so fun, and I'm very sad that we're so far away and don't get to spend every waking moment with you guys, because that is what I want to do!!!!! Thanks for being such great parents and grandparents!

I'm sure the miniatures will provide many good times. I love this time of year when it starts to cool down and things slow down a little so you can spend so much time with family!

I think I came in the wrong gate! No actually, we didn't get over there until after you were gone. Richard said he didn't see you either. Duncan had more fun in the Volleyball game listening and watching Uncle Earl and helping pull raffle tickets out of the sack for the cancer thing than he did at the Football game! He kept telling everyone outside, I'm going in to sit with "my" Uncle Earl- all of our fans were like who? I had to explain the family ties up there but he was very adamant about the "my"part. Sorry I missed you! P.S. I love the picture on your header....
