It's That Time of Year to.......JUST DANCE!

Friday night, February 25th, 2012
What a wonderful night for me! Earl and I spent the night at Thanksgiving Point where not only did I get to see my little granddaughters displaying their talents, but I also got to see the fruition of my talented, hard-working daughters, Billie Jo and Giselle. Call me PROUD...it is true. I am!

The first routine we saw was our LITTLE MISS MIA...confident, cute as any little girl could be, and giving it her all...just like she always does. She did a little duet with her friend, Jordan Diamond. They were so cute and scored a first place with their routine. So proud of you, Mia!

Next, was MISS BUTI-FUL, TESS! She and her friend, Rachel Lee, competed a really cute duet that wowed the judges and they earned a first-place.
As you can see from this picture, Tess and Rachel had worked hard to be totally together!
I was shocked to see Ellie on stage. I mean, I can see Ellie is maturing and turning in to a beautiful young woman, but to see her on stage.... ahhhh.....she is my LITTLE granddaughter...I thought! She has turned into a beautiful little young woman right before my very eyes. Her talent and stage presence are AMAZING! Ellie scored a high gold with her solo, which means she scored a 29.999 from each judge out of 30!
What fun for these girls...to sit on stage and wait for the awards to be given out. They are not afraid...for they are sure of themselves. They are not worried, for they know they have given their all.
Ellie and her friend, Lydia Farmer, competed a solo, which they earned a first.
Ellie and her friend, Maddie Johnson, competed in Hip Hop and earned yet another first.
How cute is this girl?
Their tricks are unbelievable and they know how to sell their performance!
Saturday morning, the team competition began. Again, Mia's team was first to go on stage and I can't even find words to describe how good this little routine was. Every little girl is confident and gives her all. Another first-rate performance!
This little girl is such a cutie, I couldn't resist taking this picture -- Hayden is a doll and and a great little dancer too!
Have you ever seen such a sweet, beautiful little face? Tess is such a tender, soft little girl. She is easy to be around and super talented. Everything comes easy for her and she also wins your heart as easily as she does anything. Mia is in the forefront. My Mom always used to say, "Dynamite comes in small packages!" Mia is a testament to Mom's philosophy. Perhaps she is this way because she is Mom's namesake! Whatever, she certainly has the ability to grab your eye and heart!
Can you believe these little girls can do this? My mouth nearly fell to my chest when they picked this little girl up and did this trick! IMPRESSIVE!
This team is mature in both confidence and performance. Lots of skilled dancers with confidence to go along. I think Billie Jo and Giselle are such great teachers...I love it that their students trust them and therefore, put their heart and soul in to what they learn!
Ha! So fun to watch this group! In fact, you can't take your eyes off of them!
It is so fun to see the stage filled with youth who are improving themselves and see the audience filled with with parents who love their children and support them in developing their talents.
Yet another team filled with girls who are strong and confident. The time spent in the studio daily working on ballet, acro and jazz is definitely well worth it when you see them perform They are disciplined and technical.
Ummm...how beautiful is this form. The pointed toes, the muscle strength, the camaraderie, the poise...I LOVE it!
Dude! These girls know how to rock it with their hip-hop. I love the faces they naturally make as they perform each move.
Humm...does the performance and commitment show in their performance or what?
This lurical was mesmerizing. I don't know if I drew a breath throughout the 2 1/2 minute routine. I think I held my breath the whole time...this dance was simply beautiful!
How do you look this beautiful at the end of two solid days of competition?
Tess is patient and helps anyone out who may need her assistance.
Even little Evie Fae was still smiling after two solid days of competition. I think it is because she knows her day is coming -- soon!
Oh, the fun of friends and working hard on something you love so much! Well, they all know they have one month to the next compettion in St. George and they are more than READY to improve even more.
There is a saying by Martha Graham that I love,
"Great dancers are not great because of their technique ... they are great because of their passion."
I am so thankful for Billie Jo and Giselle who are passionate about dancing and who plant that same passion in their students. You can tell they not only feel the passion for dance in the soles of their shoes, but also the passion comes from within their very souls. I love you two for what you do to help your students love to dance, discipline themselves, give their all, work diligently and have great self-concept. A Mom could not be any more pleased or proud. Tis the season....JUST DANCE!

It was so wonderful to have you there the whole weekend. More importantly, you have taken the best pictures so there is actual documentation of these events! It was fabulous to have all the girls do so wonderful. I am freaked out that my oldest daughter looks like she is about 15 years old and acts like she is that old as well. They all made me proud. Thanks again for the support, you are the best!

What an awesome post! Your pictures are so so awesome and I love the addition of the videos. I am proud that you were able to get those videos on your blog! Way to go, Mom! Well...Billie Jo and I have you to thank for the talent and passion that we have for dance. I know I am not the greatest dancer in the world, nor am I the greatest teacher, but I am proud of my talent and the skills that I have and feel proud to teach and train the kids in this valley. I am really proud of the work we are able to do with our studio, and it's awesome to see it come to life at a competition more than anything else. Thanks momma! Love you!
