My Little Brother is Cool...err..Cold(?)... and my Granddaughters are cute!!

Earl and Rob and I had a fun little vaca this past weekend. We went to Midway to see the Interfaith Creche, out to dinner and then stayed in our condo. We had a very enjoyable little trip and guess what was even on TV late Sat. night???? My favorite! White Christmas!!!! Yeah! We did have to watch the Jazz, the Ags, and some football game before I found White Christmas.

It was Grandma and Granddaughters day out Sat. morning, so we went to Midway to check out their Christmas celebration. They have a great little gingerbread house decorating display. Tons of people make the most wonderful gingerbread houses and then they are auctioned off with the money being raised for the Children's Justice Center. Some of the displays are so elaborate -- with lights and furniture inside the houses!

We even found the 3-Little Pigs houses. See the straw and the wood houses are blown away, while the lovely brick house is still standing!

Father and Mother Christmas were even visiting the celebration to begin checking their lists to see if their lists matches up with what the children are saying!

Mia was actually the brave girl, who went up all by herself to find Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Tess and Ellie waited until I assured them they didn't have to sit on his lap! Mia was pretty serious about needing to let Santa know just what was on her list! What a great day!

My brother is working on an irrigation project, installing a gravity flow pipe for the Church Farm on Bench Creek. We came to see the project.

Of course, Mr. Noah had to come along and get a ring-side seat to see it too.

The weather has actually been pretty good for the job all fall. My Dad came to see DeLoy work on it just two days before he passed away and it was a beautiful day. I think it looked like heaven to him that day.

The pipe is a new type that DeLoy hasn't installed before -- called HDPE (high density poly-ethylene). It comes in 50-foot lengths and has to be welded together by a special welding machine. He has put in over 4,000 feet, so far.

It has been very cold for the last week or so, but the day we went up, the morning had started at -7. Sounds like hot chocolate weather to me! I think he's pretty cool and I was very impressed with the whole project!

Wow! I was excited for you when you told me about your Midway plan. But White Christmas? Can it get any better? On SYTYCD they danced to "Choreography" by Danny Kane and I wanted to watch White Christmas so much!

Wow, I didn't know that about Uncle DeLoy. That is a big job! And boy, that is COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been cold here and feeling sorry for myself because I've needed a jacket almost everyday for the past couple of weeks. I am weak!

There are so many fun and enjoyable things to do at Christmas even if it is cold. Thanks for the girls morning. The girls are really excited to decorate our cottage tonight for family home evening. Hope they don't think I can come up with the elaborate mansions we saw on Saturday!

What a fun litle Midway trip!! I am so glad you got to go up and see the project and take pictures. I have been wanting to go up and I just have not made it. I agree with Beau, Mom. I love all of your posts and probably get the most excited when I see that you have updated. I, too, watched White Christmas on Saturday night(in between the sports events, ha ha!) I made Max's sisters watch it since they had never seen it before. I think they thought I was a little weird when I started in on "sister, sisters...." But oh well! The granddaughter day looks so fun! I wish we lived there!! How many times can I say it??? But I am excited to have fun this weekend. Let's plan something fun! What an exciting project of Uncle DeLoy's! That will be great when its finished. Love you!

I am glad that you were able to have such a fun little get-a-way! Someday when we are not building a house I may have to venture to Midway. It looks so fun. Thanks for taking Noah to see the big construction project. You know he is in HEAVEN seeing that kind of stuff!

Oh how I love going and seeing The Interfaith Creche. We usually make it a tradition to go every year, but we were out of town this year. I am glad that you guys were able to go and enjoy it!
Deloy's project looks massive, and like you said- very cold! I sure he will be so happy when it is finished!
