I'm going to hide away, out beside that Utah Trail,
Moonlight as bright as day, far out on that Utah Trail,
That's where I'll settle down in peace where all is still
In a little hut just built for two, tucked away in the heart of the hill.
There 'neath the skies of blue, in the golden winter time,
Out where all friends are true and all nature is in rhyme
Someone is waiting with a love that never fails,
Waiting patiently to welcome me far out on that Utah Trail!

I remember getting all bundled up and going "out to feed" with my Dad. Those were great times. In the winter, you could see the cattle's breath as they snorted to get to the hay when the temperature was so cold! It's was challenge to be able to stand up while the tractor was going! It was fun to be able to shove the hay off and give the cows their dinner. It was a huge challenge to drive the tractor and stay in the tracks, so as not to get stuck! It was fun to sing to the top of your lungs and know the chilly air was carrying your song heavenward!
I suppose it used to take a long time to get ready to go "out to feed." I don't remember that part of my childhood. I do know now, that Grandpa Earl waits patiently as we find winter clothes for all the kids to wear. It takes longer to get the kids ready to go out than it actually does to feed the cattle.
Where else can a child learn the joy of working any better than on a little farm that has been held on to for years and has been lovingly passed from one generation to another? Where else can children learn to love life and animals and your Grandpa any better than on a little farm, tucked away in the heart of the hill? Where better can children have fun times with their cousins and see the beautiful world that has been created for us?
When your "little hut" is finally complete and ready for occupancy, your brother will do a celebration dance with you -- to join in your happiness...because in a few years down the road, you will be repeating the same things with your grandchildren that you did as a kid and now your kids are doing.
Nature really is in rhyme here at our mountain home. There's always someone waiting -- with a love that never fails -- out here on the Utah Trail!

Great post! I couldn't agree more about the farm-I myself have a little farm boy that wants nothing more than to be outside feeding the cows and horses with his grandpa. Every time I think about going back to Alaska, it breaks my heart to think of tearing Tayvin away from his grandpa and the farm. LOVE the pictures of Olivia and Rob dancing! :)
Oh I love it, Mom. It was a great post with pictures to prove it. I can only imagine the fun that Jack has been having this week: being on the farm, feeding the cows, drinking DP, late nights....the list goes on, I'm sure. I really appreciate all you're doing for me and all you've ever done! What a great life you've given us all.
That was one of my favorite posts ever. The kids are adorable... but the dancing, THE BEST!
So fun! Those pictures of the kids with dad are priceless. I'm sure he was patient in waiting :) What lucky kids to enjoy the country life! Maybe I could import some of those memories into Rajko's little head?? Hmmm... eventually they'll come up with a technology for that. OR we could just come visit once in a while!
When would be a good time to come next? When do you have a break from school??
Although it really is a lot of work to get everyone bundled up to head out and feed, it is always worth it. I agree that kids can learn so many things and have so much as they work on the farm with their Grandpa. I love the dancing pictures. I am glad that Rob finally has his house back to enjoy...kid free.
When did I miss this post. I love the pictures. Mia kept asking me when she was going to feed that cows with grandpa. I had to tell her that there was no way her mom could teach and take her to the feed at the same time. She LOVED it!
Hi there!
I would like to burn a theme at here. There is such a thing, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of financial piramyde, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.
For several years , I make money with the help of these programs.
I don't have problems with money now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I get now up to 2G a day , and my first investment was 500 dollars only.
Right now, I managed to catch a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Turn to my blog to get additional info.
