CELEBRATE!!!! What a great life we have here in this choice land! What wonderful opportunities we have as families to live close enough to visit and spend time with each other! We really do have so many freedoms in our lives and I am so thankful for that!
All of our children were home to celebrate the 4th of July with us. Earl and I were able to join the folks of Oakley, singing in their choir for the annual patriotic program and we enjoyed doing so. Some of our family were even able to attend and enjoy the show too.
Earl has had this dream of planting potatoes for our family--and our extended family. He wants us to learn to love working with the soil and learning to depend on it. It finally happened-even though we were a little slow-over the weekend while everyone was home. The project really was a great project that everyone enjoyed from oldest to youngest.
***Just a note, this post is divided in two parts--sheerly because of my inept abilities with technology. When you reach the first ending, don't comment there--continue on with the 2nd part and then comment at the end of that one. Please do comment. I love hearing from you and knowing you are connected to me through this medium.
Enjoy -- and know how much I love America and the blessings of living in a free country where I can make decisions an enjoy the results of those decisions!
What is the 4th of July without a parade? And what is a parade, the 4th of July and patriotism all about if we don't show our love of Country, the flag and those who have fought to preserve our freedom? Evan and Jack stand in awe and reverence as the flag passes by!
Jack was ecstatic to see Mater right in front of his eyes at the parade!
What would a parade be without Body Motion and all the beautiful little dancers? Madilyne (Sharee's little girl) is far left, visiting from Phoenix and joining Body Motion's Summer Dance Camp.
Rajko is enjoying some of the candy thrown in the parade -- as you can see, he has really enjoyed the sucker (and collected a whole bag of goodies)!
Allen, Patrice and Evan are all decked out in 4th of July attire!
Earl and I participated in the Oakley City Patriotic Program as members of the choir. It was fun and the program was great!
Jack and Noah are practicing the kazoos that Grandma and Grandpa used for the program.
Giselle, Patrice and Chelsea up at Bench Creek at the potato planting party!
Earl with the cultivator plowing the little trough for the potato planting!
Jack liked to eat the potatoes as much as plant them.
Noah working hard, doing his share.
Tess is a real trooper for Grandpa's plan.
It's off to work in the potato patch for Mia.
Ellie working hard getting just the right potato to drop in the ground.
Luke is fulfilling Grandpa's wishes and making him happy.
Ask Eli if he is having a good time...I think the answer is, "Ah huh!"
Evan gets right in the dirt to cover the potato he planted.
Our kids were all really good to get right in and make Earl happy with the potato project.
Even the dog joined in the project and had a good time. How beautiful is this place?

Oh Mom, I just love so much the way you post and write, and love the memories you contribute in making for all of us. I always think I am happy living here, until the minute I down Lower River Road and soak it all in.
The patriotic program was wonderful, and Olivia and I cried many times! You and Dad are the best parents anyone could ask for!
This part was not on the last time I commented. I love it even more than the first. Our topic in church for the month has been gratitude, and by looking at all the wonderful things we experience just by living so close... I am more grateful than ever for what I have. Thanks so much!
Love love love the new layout, Mom! You should just change your words to white so its easier to read. Text me later and I can help you. Love you!
