The other day, Mia had an "overnighter" with Noah and was really looking forward to feeding with Grandpa. Olivia said she was awakened at 6:30 AM by Mia asking if it was time to feed with Grandpa. The hour finally approached around 4:00 PM that afternoon and all the kids got their outdoor clothes, boots and gloves and headed for the backhoe with Grandpa to feed the bulls.
As I came in the door, Rajko was standing at the front door crying, "Hampa...pockhoe...(boo hoo...boo hoo). Hampa...pockhoe (boo hoo...boo...hoo)!" Apparently Grandpa deemed that Rajko was not big enough to go with all the kids. Rajko's Mom was a little offended as well and said, "Rajko was uninvited to go feed the bulls by Grandpa!" The crying for Hampa and the pockhoe continued until Grandpa came in about thirty minutes later.
When I told Grandpa how bad Rajko felt, Grandpa said he could go tomorrow. I sternly informed Grandpa that he would cry until tomorrow and he should get ready and take Rajkie on a drive through the barnyard and out and back down the driveway.
Rajko has never allowed his Mother to put a winter hat on him, but as soon as "Hampa" said, "Come on Rajko...Grandpa will take you to the backhoe," the coat, gloves, boots AND hat went on!
The walk to the backhoe could not have gone fast enough for Rajko. He was jabbering a mile a minute about "Hampa" and the "pockhoe."
OTHER GREAT WONDERS!
We have looked forward to this new little baby for a very long time! When the day came, I took the day off, as Billie Jo is always good enough to let me witness the birth. I was able to take Ellie, Tess and Mia to Salt Lake and as we were driving, of course, we were texting their Mother to keep informed about her progress (the girls...not me while driving!). Anyway, the girls were begging me to drive 125 mph to insure we did not miss the birth of their new baby. Watching these three girls so excited about their new sibling was such fun and an experience I will be eternally thankful to have experienced. When the baby finally arrived, the girls were waiting outside the door and heard the baby's cry.
These are the special times....when within a matter of a couple of weeks, I am allowed to witness Heavenly Father's beautiful plan with a new life coming into our lives. Perhaps Evie spent the last few moments of her heavenly life with loved ones giving her encouraging words about her family here on this earth.
Special times are all about having the opportunity to be a part of a grandchild's life and seeing them progress each step.

Oh man, what a beautiful Evie. I can't wait til that little girl has a bit more of an immune system and I can snuggle her between classes at the studio!
And wow...how spoiled and lucky is Rajko? I can pretty well promise you that life will never be the same around the house. Now that Rajko has ridden the backhoe, he's going to want to go out with Grandpa at every minute! I foresee many more tears and crying out of "Hampa" and "pockoe" at the front door.
There is something between boy, farm equiptment, and Grandpas. I LOVE that my children are growing up as I did, right across the driveway from their grandparents and able to spend their time on the farm. What more could you ask for? Thanks for indulging them whenever they ask!
What lucky grandchildren to have you for their grandma. I can just hear the squeals of delight of the little one as he rides with his grandpa around the farm, and how wonderful to have the farm to give your grandkids those fun experiences. You guys are truly blessed.
Oh I can't wait for Jack to get to be a farm boy. He better toughen up a bit, though!!!
